Plot summary
Revolution 2020 is a gripping and fast paced novel about love,corruption and ambition. The story deals into the underrbly of a small town,Varanasi,and explores the various hues in the characters of the protagonist in it.Bhagat unearths the darker side of the education system ,and for that matter,love too.
In the small and historic town of varanasi in India,two boys raghav and gopal fall in love with the same girl,Arti .Both of them are intelligent,ambititions and are the best of friends ,but destiny has something else in store for them.One of them wants to use his intelligence to make a lot of money and the other wants to create a revolution;but again,their plans are ditrupted by their love.
Gopal hails from a poor family and fails to get an admission to the best engineering college in the country.Heart broken ,he moves to kota for a year to prepare for the exam.Raghav comes from a well-to-do family and achives a good rank in JEE. Delighted ,he joins IIT-BHU,one of the premier institutes of India, and hails from a powerfull bureaucratic family and her aim is to become a airhostess. Aarti falls in love with raghav while gopal is at Kota.
Things take a different turn when Aarti starts developing a soft corner for gopal.

Revolution 2020: love, Corruption, Ambition is a 2011 novel by chetan bhagat its story is concerned with a love triangle, corruption and a journey of self-discovery. R2020 has addressed the issure of how privet coaching institutions exploit aspiring engineering students. How parents put their lifetimes earnings on stake for these classes so that their children can crack engineering exams and change the fortune of the family. While a handful accomplish their dreams others sink into the book is available as an audio book on amazon.
The author stated that the novel is based on the Rampent corrouption apparent in the Indian youth educational system, with the choice of varanasi as a setting emerging through a a special connection to the city following his visit. He further said it is one of our oldest cities, and people there now have modern aspiration. I thought the contrast would be interested. The city also has a lot of charcter.
My observation
Revolution 2020 is the story of three childhood friends; Gopal,Raghav and Aarti. The story is setup in the holy city of varanasi. Gopal and raghav are school mates from the childhood and the share the same bench in the school. Aarti is also from same class. Gopal loves Aarti from the school days.
It is mainly about the Love,Ambittion and Corruption and defines about their friendship and based on a reaslistic situation and is a very intresting novel about the friends and also is a good and intresting story after reading it conveys about how a relationship can be made and how it is spoiled and gives out a good theme about it.
